Task

The task is to redesign the coal company from Sahalin in the direction of ecology, to move away from the red and rough forms, and also to interest the youth who work in Sakhalin in this company. And also show the unity of people, that this is a common cause.

Fern green was chosen as the main color, because valuable types of coal are formed from ferns,  and also on Sakhalin, ferns are held in special esteem and are even used as food.

The forms have become softer and friendlier. The sign contains several meanings at once. The circle means continuous movement and development: every day the EMCO becomes more perfect. The figure inside the formed elements resembles a compass.

The highlighted part indicates the place of activity of the eastern mining company – Sakhalin. The circle includes six sectors, the outlines of which are similar to mountains. One of them  is black – a mountain of coal. The rest are green, which evokes associations with environmental friendliness and concern for nature.

Since a lot of jobs in the coal company on Sakhalin are occupied by young people, the task was also to attract a young audience, so that they would want to work in the company and they would be interested, so the idea to develop merch for everyday life in the style of technical clothing for workers was born.

The pattern consists of geometric shapes, shaped like objects that are directly related to coal mining. These are parts of an EMCO conveyor, a mining truck, and a pattern on the ground left by an excavator bucket. The trendy element in the form of checkers is a reference to coal moving along a conveyor. The pattern may vary depending on the medium.
